BUSY BUSY BUSY

I feel like I'm not a very regular blogger at the moment, but in all fairness over the last week I've been awfully busy. Joe had his graduation, we went to see James Murphy and 2manydjs at the Manchester International Festival, and I've been working and also packing to move house next week!

Here are a few photos from the last week!

Joe and Myself at his graduation.

Joe's friends and himself.

Chilling and having a few drinks at the festival site after graduation.

I found my camera also does panoramic photos so I thought I'd test that feature out whilst we were having a few pints in the sun.

I also said in my previous post I had a little surprise for you all and here it is!

I hope you all enjoy the video and let me know if you want to see anymore like it!

Soap & Glory™ No Clogs Allowed™ Deep Pore Detox Mask

I've wanted to try a good detoxing mask for my face for a long time but never found one that I ever got along with; until now. Whilst in boots with one of my friends I saw this and what first bought it to my attention was the “so long blackheads” and “super self-heating” on the packaging. For someone who does get clogged pores easily I thought this would be fantastic to try.

The instructions recommend you use a grape sized amount of the formula once or twice a week into the face using your fingertips. Once that has been done you’re advised to wet your hands and scrub your face … this is where you’ll feel the heating sensation of the product on the skin. At first I was rather taken back by the heating of the product on the skin as I wasn't sure if I liked the feeling of it, or whether that was going to be good for my skin. Luckily (for myself) the heating of the product didn't last too long. As for its claims for “wet your hands and scrub until you’re blue in the face – literally.” I thought I was going to be bright blue as though some look alike of Violet Beauregarde from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory after she ate the chewing gum, but to my dismay it was just a slight tint of blue.

It mentions at the bottom of the packaging about avoiding contact with the eyes by saying “This mask contains exfoliating acids, heating ingredients ad a fair bit of skin smoothing scrub stuff, none of which are particularly agreeable with an eyeball. Oooch.” Which made me giggle a bit but states that if you do come in contact with it in your eyes then to use a dry cloth to remove the product and rinse the area thoroughly with plenty of water. Which to be honest is a quite logical thing to do if you get something in the eye.

Nevertheless, rubbing this product into my face, wetting my hands and scrubbing until I was (slightly) blue in the face, I left the product on for 3-5 minutes which you can do before sponging off, or you can leave it on for just 1 minute for a quick fast refresh. Once washing the product off my face my skin felt so very smooth which was a lovely feeling, my skin looked very clear and it looks as though it does stand up to all its claims (bar going totally blue in the face).
I would defiantly recommend this product to anyone, it retails for £11.50 in Boots. I give this product an 8/10 simply due to being let down my the blueness that my face would turn and not being so keen on the heating of the product, but bar from that it is a wonderful product that leaves the skin feeling fresh, smooth and clean.

Would I recommend this product? – Yes, most defiantly.
Was the product worth the money? – Again, yes most defiantly.
Would I purchase the product again? – Of course.

I hope you're all having a wonderful day and I have a special surprise for you within the next day or so! - Keep tuned.

I am still alive!

Hello everyone!

I'm ever so sorry for the major lack of posts lately. From the start of May to the start of June I have been so so busy. I had a university work placement at the Countess of Chester hospital for 5 weeks as a Medical Laboratory Assistant in the hospitals Pathology Laboratory. I loved the 5 weeks I was at placement there and was so sad to leave. But I learnt so many wonderful things and I was lucky enough to spend a few days in the mortuary and view post-mortems  I know to many of you readers It won't sound thrilling or nice at all but I was amazed. One of the ladies I worked with made a very valid point that once your curiosity of wanting to know what happens and wanting to know what goes on in a human body then you sort of forget that you are looking inside a deceased person and you end up very inquisitive. Over the few days of watching post-mortems I must have had the two people I was working with reckless with the amount of questions I asked but they never once failed to give me an answer.

I've also wonderfully managed to gain myself a job at Bravissimo in Chester as a bra fitter. Its such a great job and I'm enjoying myself so much. (I'm very very tempted to do a post on a good fitting bra for you ladies). I've been working there since the end of April and have been offered a permanent contract so I will still have an income whilst I'm at university in my third year.

Finally, I have had my university results back from my second year! I passed this year at a 2:2. Although I would have much preferred a 2:1 I did work my bum off all year and always tried my absolute hardest so no one can ask any more of me. Hopefully with more working my bum off I will come out with a 2:1 overall for my degree grade which I would be ecstatic with. Hopefully I'm going to do a couple of reviews on some products I've bought recently and also quite possibly a haul video as I've gone a little crazy buying beauty and hair products!

Enjoy the rest of your weekends everyone and speak to you soon!

Beauty Haul!

Hello Lovelies!

Firstly, sorry for the lack of posts! I've been terribly busy with my exam revision and spending time at home with my family and my boyfriend.

But all is not lost! I've done a little bit of a haul today - yay!

I've been a little bit naughty today and popped into the MAC counter in Debenhams  I've been wanting a foundation that was to match my skin tone properly for a long time, and after one of my close friends telling me about her going into MAC and they matched a few foundations to her skin, I thought I would go myself and see what they could do for me!
The lady who helped me out was called Lydia, if I remember correctly.
She had the most fantastic make-up I've seen for a long time. She firstly sat me down and asked me about what my skin was like, oily or dry. My skin has always been quite dry so I've always needed to use a good moisturiser. She told me MAC have a moisturiser that will do wonders for my skin called Complete Comfort Cream
She buffed this into my skin, and then used the Prep + Prime Skin on top of the moisturiser. I like quiet a matte finish foundation rather than dewy, so Lydia recommended I try the Studio Fix Fluid in NW13. This gave a very good coverage to which I liked very much. I asked her about adding a little colour to my face as I am very fair skinned. She added Mineralize Skinfinish Natural to contour my face which looked lovely!

After all this, I was very happy to purchase the item I tried.
She was lovely enough also to give me 2 small sample pots of the primer and moisturiser.

After being at MAC I also popped down to Boots to get some bits and bobs.
I ended up coming back with the following;

1. Collection 2000 Fast Stroke eyeliner in black.
2. Rimmel Professional eyebrow pencil in dark brown.
3. Boots simply sensitive eye makeup remover.
4. Natural Collection blusher in peach melba.
5. Boots dark chocolate brown permanent hair dye.

Finally I also bought a new pair of high waisted jeans from New Look in a size smaller than I previously was, so yay for weight loss!

See you all soon!

Get Your Glamour On!

I'm forever routing round in my mams nail polish box to find new colours to try out and I fell in love with this very coral red colour!

I'm a huge lover of all the OPI nail polishes.
I always, always without a doubt use the OPI base and top coat they're wonderful, but with being at home at the moment I didn't have these to hand!
So instead I "borrowed" my mams OPI Nail Envy, and also their Rapidry Top Coat.
I'm very tempted to buy the Rapidry top coat as mine has started to become gloopy! (if anyone has any tips to stop this from happening, let me know!)

I was going to add the OPI white shatter on top of the "Get Your Glamour On" and changed my mind mid way through!
But the end result is shown below. Its such a pretty colour!
I genuinely love OPI nail polishes and feel they're very good value for money, so if you haven't tried any of the products before you will not be disappointed!

Thank-you lovelies!
